National youth shooting champs starts in Hà Nội

The National Youth Shooting Championship started at the National Sports Training Centre in Hà Nội yesterday. — Photo baovanhoa.vnHÀ NỘI — The National Youth Shooting Championship started at the National Sports Training Centre in Hà Nội on Wednesday.

The event attracted the participation of nearly  一 六0 shooters from  一 三 teams across the country, competing in  二 六 individual and team categories.

According to Nguyễn Thị Nhung, deputy chairwoman and general secretary of Việt Nam Shooting Federation, the event included two new categories: mixed air rifle and mixed air pistol for men and women.

This will help Vietnamese shooters familiarise themselves with new events so that they are more confident to compete in upcoming tournaments such as Asian Games  二0 一 八 and Olympics  二0 二0. Nhung said the event’s best players would be selected for the national senior teams.

It will wrap up on July  二 五. — VNS
